We provide a complete materials sourcing, machining, fabrication & assembly service
We offer you a wide range of services from one location: no managing multiple suppliers, no moving components around the county (or the country!)
Our fully-equipped workshop – with guillotines, press brakes, band saws, chop saws, pillar drills, and a range of welders and welding materials – deals with all your metal fabrication needs: coded welding, structural steel work, sheet metal cutting and folding, CNC turning, milling, drilling, assembly, and more.
We are always looking at new and innovative ways to do things and new machinery to add to our factory, so we can offer you the latest and best solutions. We maintain up-to-date testing and certifications and are fully accredited for CE marking of structural components for steel structures to BS EN 1090.
Our engineers are highly skilled, with many years of experience. We can send them to work at your site, if required, and you are very welcome to visit our premises and meet the team…
Meet the Team
Our Engineering Team is led by Rob Windsor, who joined us in 2008. Having been in engineering for over 30 years, Rob is ideally placed to help with your manufacturing needs.
Rob is supported by Nikki Victor, who’s been with us since 2018 and is always on hand to deal with any enquiries or questions you may have.
The rest of the team is made up of machinists and welders with many years of experience; Alan (one of our welders) has been here since the company started! All of our team are friendly and local and happy to discuss any aspect of your project with you personally to ensure we get it ‘right first time’.
Proud of our History
Based in the heart of Basingstoke for over 30 years, Basing Engineering is a third generation, family-run business.
It all started with our sister company, Meyn Poultry Equipment Ltd, founded by Roy Harding back in 1972. When Roy retired in 1986, his son-in-law Peter Bowditch took over the running of the business, and Basing Engineering was born. The two companies have operated together for 34 years, with the next generation joining to work alongside Peter and the team.
In 2019, Basing Engineering moved to a new – and bigger – site. Our approach has always been to embrace the right investment and expansion. We have continuously recruited skilled staff to grow the team and added to our machine base, enabling us to take on more and larger-scale projects. We continue to do this, adding a brake press in recent years… and now with our new site, we have the room to expand and grow even more.
